Community Clean Up, Landfill Communities Fund, & Charity Update
We are a Staffordshire based company, employing over 80 people at our three sites. Our management team are keen to ensure that the local community is supported, not only though employment opportunities but also by us actively giving back to the local people.
Community Clean Up
We’ve teamed up with Signal Radio for the Big Community Clean Up. Residents across Staffordshire and Cheshire have been able to apply for a team of volunteers to help give their local parks, schools, and community areas some TLC and a freshen up.
The campaign is well underway, and new applications are still being accepted. So far, the Clean Up Team have been out to a couple of sites, including:
- Sneyd Green Park to remove rubbish, broken glass, and graffiti – making the park a safe and enjoyable place for the local children to play.
- St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Goldenhill – their habitat area was overgrown and unusable. The team have started the clean up process, removing tall weeds, brambles, and broken tree branches. This is a large project to undertake and will take several days to complete.
All of this is only possible through the fantastic volunteers and companies who have given up time, services, and expertise to help complete these projects.

Landfill Communities Fund
Our first round of applications has been received and we have approved funding of over £57,000 to projects in the local community. We are delighted to be able to help the local area through funding for projects such as improvements to sporting facilities, securing of community areas, and other community projects.
The Landfill Communities Fund was created to provide people living within the vicinity of a landfill site with funding to help improve their community areas. Projects that are within a 3 mile radius of one of our sites and meet the criteria (such as not-for-profit, restoration of a historical building, open to the general public etc.) can request an application pack and could be eligible for funding.
Medium/ Large Business of the Year
We are delighted to have been selected as finalists for the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. We are one of five companies shortlisted in this category – the winner will be announced on 6th July at the Awards Ceremony.
The judges have been looking at all aspects of the business, including financial performance, employee development and training, sustainability, long term plans, wider community work and more. We’re honoured to have progressed this far – having reached the final five companies across Staffordshire and Cheshire is a fantastic achievement in itself and great recognition of our company.
Steph Rowley, who works in our landfill team, is taking part in her 10th Moonlight Walk for The Dougie Mac Hospice. She has so far raised over £900 and is still fundraising! To donate visit: https://dougie-macs-moonlight-walk.everydayhero.com/uk/steph26
